Love and Other Drugs started two and a half years ago as a simple
journal keeping experiment. You can read about that and how I saw
myself back then by clicking
here.
As time went on, I realized that it was also a way for me, as a
naturally shy person, to speak to the world in general about what I
think and feel. I'm not saying I've got a message of great import, but
I do feel sometimes that I'm hiding my flashlight under the bedcovers
and not sharing the good book I'm reading that I just can't wait until
dawn to finish.
Overly long and derivative metaphors aside, I've also found that I like
peeking at my stats and seeing that during April 2004 I averaged 24
page views a day. (Yes, my readership numbers in the 10s) While about
half of those views are friends checking in on my life, the other half
are random folk who stumble upon my site while surfing, and perhaps
even a regular stranger or two who haven't introduced themselves yet.
As I mention above, most of what I write is not earth shattering. That
being said, I recently scanned through my nostalgia/archive pages and
found quite a few of my entries that I'm glad I sent out to the world.
Mostly because I still believe in Whos
and the power that one voice has to change the fate of the whole
world.
